Services for Robert D. “Bob” Ellis, 27, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Revs. Rod Hinkle and William R. Ellis, Mr. Ellis’ uncle, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. (Sec Park A, Lot 118)
Mr. Ellis died Saturday, June 22, 1991, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1963, in Lawrence, the son of James R. Ellis Sr. and Reta Welch Ellis. He was a graduate of the Knoxville area Vo-Tech School and was employed as a touch-up specialist at Dr. Touch Up in Lawrence. He formerly had been the warranty administrator at Sonny Hill Motors in Lawrence and a service adviser at Jim Ellena Buick-Oldsmobile. He had been involved in the Sky Warn program in Douglas County as well as the Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society. He was a member of the Lawrence Heights Christian Church.
Survivors include his parents, of the home; a son, Michael A., Coffeyville; a brother, James R. Jr., Lawrence; and a sister, Linda Sue Conrad, Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials to the Michael A. Ellis Educational Trust Fund, in care of the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
