Robin Marie Webb

Nashville – Robin Marie Webb passed away on 19 August 2018 after a couple of years of failing health. Robin was born on 3 April 1964 in Arlington, VA to John and Joanne Webb. Eventually her family moved to Leavenworth, KS where she was the delight of her grandparents. She graduated from Kansas University with a BA in Communication, Kansas University School of Law and from American University with a Master in International Human Rights Law. She worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs the Tennessee Human Rights Commission and was admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court. She started a private practice in which she helped veterans obtain the benefits to which they were entitled. She met Chris Griffin, a Nashville native, and they lived in Nashville for almost eighteen years. Robin’s greatest delight was being with family especially with her cousins and their children. Halloween was always an adventure. She is survived by Chris, her father John Webb and step-mother Madeline Webb, her mother Joanne Piezonki. I am an Army brat, and proud of it! My father is retired career military, a Command Sergeant Major, and his father, my grand-dad, was also a career Army man.

I attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, for both my undergraduate and law degrees. I am an unapologetic Jayhawker to the core. Rock chalk, Jayhawk, KU! I also obtained my Masters of Law, an LL.M., from the American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, DC.

My career focused on veterans began at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, in Washington, DC. While at the Board, I developed a deep understanding of veterans benefits law and came to appreciate the importance of the contract this nation has with its veterans and their dependents.

At the Board in Washington, DC, I wrote appellate decisions for signature by a Board Member, now called Veterans Law Judge, the same type of decisions on appeal to the Court.

Wanting to return to my Kansas roots, I left the Board and relocated to the Wichita VA regional office. While there, I wrote and signed my own rating decisions. I decided to go into private practice as a veterans benefits lawyer when I moved to Nashville, Tennessee. I was admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in August 2002. I am also an accredited representative before the VA.

Since 2002, I have helped hundreds of veterans and their dependents fight VA denials.
