Kevin Weldon lost his battle with kidney cancer on Sunday October 7, 2012 at age 49. Kevin was born September 25, 1963 in Hawthorne, CA. to Lloyd Weldon and the late Audrey Goff Weldon. A long time resident of Tonganoxie, Kevin married Brenda Eisman and her 2 children, Stephen Shivers (Tonganoxie) and April LaVigne (Leavenworth) in 1990 – they survive him. In 1999, Kevin and Brenda started Honeycreek Disposal Company. Kevin loved the outdoors – riding his Harley – and car racing. Kevin loved his customers, kids and pets. Diagnosed with cancer in December 2011, Kevin will be remembered for never saying “why me”. Kevin displayed such grace in how he handled his disease. He was our rock.
Kevin is also survived by his father Lloyd Weldon (Eudora), his four siblings – Kim Pollack, & Jodi Weiss (Colorado), Randall Weldon (Eudora), and Robert McGill (Kansas City), and grandchildren – Andrea, Luke, Elizabeth and Madison – his extended family who adored him, and his many friends and customers.
Join us in celebration of his life at the Administration Building at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds in Tonganoxie at 6:30pm on Wed. Oct. 10, 2012. Kevin requested contributions to Childrens’ Mercy Hospital – Resource Dept. Pediatric Oncology, 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
