Funeral services for Monte Allen Virtue, 53, Eudora, will be 10 am Friday, August 18, 2017, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hubble Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie (Section 3, Block 3, Grave 8). Monte died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at his home from respiratory complications. He was born May 26, 1964 in Lawrence the son of Jack Louis and Beverly Jo Foley Virtue.

Monte was a 1982 graduate of Lawrence High School. Heattended diesel mechanic school in Wichita. He worked at several diesel shops and was working for Wilson Transport and Rock ‘N’ L Truck ‘N’, Eudora.

Monte was counted on by many and always went out of his way to help. He loved to fish,hunt, and anything outdoors. He raced modified stock cars in Kansas and Missouri during the 90s. He lived in the moment like there was no tomorrow. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He found happiness in spending time with his daughters and was very proud of them. He was their world.

Survivors include his father Jack of Eudora, daughters Beverly Jo Virtue of Eudora, Sophia Klemme of Eudora, Natasha Lathrom of Lawrence, sister Tammy Wilson (Stan) of Eudora, brother Rick Virtue (Sheryl) of Lawrence, his companion Sandy Poeverlein of Eudora, nephews Chris Wilson, Bryon Virtue and niece Jessica Veit. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Jo Virtue on July 27, 1988.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
