The season opening Friday night football game against Shawnee Mission East, which was played on the road at SM South’s stadium, is previewed following the low scoring football jamboree scrimmage.

The Chesty Lions football team prevailed in victory over Shawnee Mission East, 29-14. The team broke open a tight 15-14 game with two fourth quarter TD’s. Senior tailback Jan Demby lead all rushers with 99 yards on 14 carries. Demby also took a first quarter kick-off return 90 yards for the opening touchdown.

Boys coach Steve Sublett and new girls CC coach Ted Juneau highlight the upcoming LHS cross country season and team makeup.
